Don't Neglect Elderly Skin Care

Elderly skin care is an important area to pay attention to, but many of us seem to forget about it, or stick to our old routine, unaware that our skin is changing. Over the years, our skin develops different requirements, and becomes more delicate. Knowing how to care for it properly could be the key to looking healthier and younger.

Our skin is the largest organ in our bodies, and the one that comes into the most contact with the outside world. That's why it makes sense to make sure it stays in good condition. While you can't undo old sun exposure, you can limit what you get now, and use a good quality sunscreen, applied regularly, whenever you do decide to go out. This, combined with loose clothing that blocks sunlight, can be a real help, preventing deep wrinkles and liver spots.

Our thinner skin also tears more easily, making it important to guard it against abrasion and concussion - cuts and bruises. Keep an eye on the way you move, and learn to perform tasks more slowly and carefully to keep your skin in top condition. Even if it seems like you used to do the same tasks all the time, your body may just be more fragile now.
